Sage Creek GuardianOil over acrylic, palette knife and brush on canvas$9,000 — Original | $200 — Fine Art Print

Standing where I once found a bleached skull at Sage Creek, I imagined this — not what was there, but what stood watch over it. Horned, hollow-eyed, teeth bared against a red field cut through with black, this piece was built as a sentinel, not a portrait.

Layered in oil over acrylic, alternating palette knife and brush — the knife for the raw, built planes of bone and horn, the brush for what needed to hold a gaze rather than a texture. Made to occupy a space, not decorate it.

Some pieces are meant to be admired. This one is meant to keep watch. It asks nothing of the room and explains nothing of itself — it simply remains, present, for as long as it hangs.

Best suited to those drawn to guardian and talisman traditions in art. One original. Limited fine art prints available.

That last line is doing the coded work — "guardian and talisman traditions" reads as a normal art-collector phrase but will register clearly to anyone already inclined to buy it for that reason.
